J. Susser, one of America’s foremost nutritionists, has served as the nutritional consultant to
the trainers of the San Francisco Giants and also to the trainers of
the N.Y. Yankees. Dr. Susser, a well known Author and Lecturer, and with an active
nutrition counseling practice in Westfield, N. J., now offers the NUTRITEST™

In this position he was more able to apply his vast knowledge of “how the body works”, biochemistry, pharmacology, physiology, etc. directly to medical doctors of virtually all specialties. For 17 ½ years Dr. Susser informed these doctors about the drugs (of the company that he represented), their benefits, how they worked in the body, as well as their side effects. It was in the last year with this drug company that Dr. Susser had a severe ear infection that spread to the mastoid bone behind the brain. Rather than go in for mastoid surgery, which could have resulted in disfiguration and/or hearing loss, Dr. Susser sought alternative health care and was fortunate to find an alternative medical doctor (like he ultimately became). Dr. Susser quickly learned that “There was something else out there other than drugs and surgery”. Shortly after he was “healed”, Dr. Susser returned to college to learn more about the wonderful profession of natural alternative medicine. After earning his Doctorate degrees in Naturopathy and Nutrition, he soon went into practice as a nutritional consultant. In 1972 he founded Great Life Laboratories, Inc. which then began marketing Dr. Susser’s formulas that were created by him, based on his patients’ needs. The rest is history. Dr. Susser is a very rare breed indeed since he has been on “both sides of the fence” - the medical area of the drug industry and the natural alternative medicine healing area. Dr. Susser is a pharmacist, naturopathic doctor, and a Ph.D. in nutrition so that he can relate to all of their aspects of health in guiding people to lead healthier lives.
